Feeling depressed? You’re not alone.
Depression affects over 16 million Americans per year and this number is rapidly on the rise with the recent social isolation that was created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Depression cannot be assessed in a vacuum. At Mind Wellness Counseling, we will assess your needs utilizing the MWC wellness wheel which looks at nine core components that may affect your depression.
We will then ally with you to develop a customized treatment plan that has actionable steps that meet your specific needs. No two people are the same, so we will tailor it to what you need. We are happy to work with your primary care physician to coordinate your care if needed.
Our mind/body approach takes the whole person into account when treating depression.
Here are some of the interventions that we may recommend:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression to learn new ways of thinking, behaving, and coping.
- Yoga Therapy with our Certified Yoga Therapist to learn restorative poses for relaxation and improving your mood.
- Nutritional and Wellness Counseling on education for foods that boost mood or perhaps developing a plan to embark on a new fitness regimen.
- Naturopathy with our Board-Certified Naturopathic Doctor who can help with education on how hormones may affect depression, the link between gut health and mood, and natural herbs for improving your mental well-being.
